Part 1 of an occasional series…I’m interested in knowing how many shops are stocking ‘conscious’ products, by which I mean fair trade, organic, free range etc. I live in the Born, and as well as the Veritas supermarket (expensive!! harsh flourescent lighting!! moody staff!!) on the via Laietana there are a couple of independent shops that have been providing alternatives to the crappy local supermarkets for some time, and I think they deserve some attention!

So without further ado, may I present  ‘Be Organic’:

On the charmingly-named carrer ‘Flor de Lliri’ just behind the Santa Caterina market, this friendly little shop has been here for about year and stocks everything from detergents to potatoes. Oh, and fantastic chocolate, including the super-dark one that got Dr DTS’s approval (he is possibly more of a chocolate fiend than I am).

You can pretty much do your grocery shopping here given the range of products. They also do home delivery, either from an order placed by phone or email, or simply dropping off the items you chose in the shop. Nice!
